Hydra 200 - 2019 - Vango Archive

You thought about Lightwave tents? made in the same place as Crux, i've a T1 trek XT and am well pleased. The Vango Hydra 200 is a semi-geodesic 2 man tent that is ideal for year round trekking, due to its self-supporting structure which provides an excellent balance between weight and stability. From the original canvas Force Ten tents to the next generation of Project Hydrogen and UL Ultralight tents for demanding expeditions, the Vango technical tent collection remains a firm favourite of explorers and extreme adventure seekers worldwide. My main gripes: I don't like the smaller feet end and wider top end. I also don't like the extra weight needed for the 200+ but the porch on the 200 is just a bit too small for cooking in or storing bags. The 200+ isn't really a mountain tent, but your paying the cash and carrying the weight of one! Unfortunately my budget is also limited, so I think Vango tent are a good compromise between cost and quality. In particular, I have tried the Mirage 200 (2016 version)But the sustainability efforts aren’t across the board for Vango. The Helvellyn 200 doesn’t fall within the Earth Collection and remains sub-par on the eco-friendly front. Price and competition Rychlé Balení stanu, batohu umožňuje vašeho stanu být zabalené snadno, i když je mokré, vzhledem k nadměrně vstupní/výstupní bod. Drawcord umožňuje snadné ovládání a zároveň kompresní popruhy kontrolu velikosti balení. I am looking for a tent for wild camping in the summer in Scotland. I am still a beginner but love my nature and hill-walking.

In reply to spragg: i have the Hydra 300+ but no problems from me, only the usual damp seeping through under the thermarest over night, but i get that with most lightweight tents. I'm looking for a 3 season 2 person tent, external poles, compact and low and quite sturdy (want to occasionally use it as a 4 season tent too) but not too heavy (max 3 kg). I'm particularly oriented towards semi-geodesic structures, which I expect to have a better wind resistance. I already have a 1.3 Kg Camp Minima 2 SL as a light option. I would like to know what's the difference between the current models of Hydra 200 and Helvellyn 200, because they look similar if not identical. I can only see the Helvellyn doesn't come with the porch groundsheet.

Vango Hydra 200 Tent Reviews and Details - The UK Camp Site

Hey Guest, We're having our annual Winter Moot and we'd love you to come. PLEASE LOOK HERE to secure your place and get more information. My first tent was a Hydra 200 - bought in the early 2000s. Fantastic tent, and it's still to the good. At 3.5kg it's a bit on the heavy side, but boy is it strong - I sat out a couple of gales in this and it was stalwart. With the weight I seldom use it these days, but I wouldn't part with it! What would have been appropriate would have been to take the Helvellyn 200 up Helvellyn. But that’s what you’d expect us to do, so we took it on a trip to the Yorkshire Dales over the August bank holiday weekend instead.
